01Who we are

Panic Mode Ltd ("Panic Mode", "we", "us", "our") operates the website panicmode.ie. We are a fashion rental platform based in Ireland. We are registered in Ireland under company number [CRO NUMBER], with our registered office at Bellevue House, Bellevue Copse, Booterstown, Blackrock, Co. Dublin, A94 C6K6.

We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

02What data we collect and why

When you place a rental booking. We collect your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and order details so we can process your booking, deliver your item, arrange its return, and contact you about your rental. We collect this to fulfil our contract with you.

Payment information. Payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe. Your full card details are entered directly with Stripe and are processed and stored by them under their own security standards. We do not see or store your full card number. We may hold limited information such as a secure reference to your card so that, as set out in our Terms & Conditions, we can charge agreed amounts (for example late fees or repair costs) after notifying you. We rely on our contract with you and our legitimate interest in protecting our items for this.

When you create an account (if account features are available). We collect your name, email address, contact and delivery details, and a password, so you can manage your bookings. We collect this to provide the service you have asked for.

When you contact us. If you email us or message us through the site or social media, we collect your name, contact details and whatever information is in your message, so we can respond and keep a record of the query. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering you properly.

When you join our mailing list. If you opt in to marketing emails, we collect your name and email address and rely on your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing info@panicmode.ie.

When you tag us or share content for rewards. If you take part in any promotion where you tag Panic Mode on social media (for example to receive a discount code), we may collect your social media handle and the content you have publicly shared and tagged us in. We rely on our legitimate interest in running these promotions and on your participation. We will only repost or feature your content with your consent.

Technical and usage information. When you use our website we collect technical information such as your device type, browser, and how you move through the site, through cookies and similar technologies. Where these are not strictly necessary to run the site, we rely on your consent, which you give through our cookie banner. See the Cookies section below.

03Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are essential to make the site work (for example keeping items in your basket). Others help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Non-essential cookies are only used with your consent, which you can give or refuse through the cookie banner and change at any time. Our site is hosted and served using Vercel, and our product and booking data is held in Supabase.

04Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary to run the service, with:

• our service providers who help us operate the platform, including our hosting and database providers (Vercel and Supabase), our payment provider (Stripe), our email and business-tools provider (Google Workspace), and any delivery or courier partner we use to get items to and from you;
• our professional advisors, such as accountants, insurers or lawyers, where needed;
• law enforcement, regulators or other authorities where we are legally required to do so; and
• a prospective buyer of our business, if we ever sell or transfer it, so the service can continue.

Each provider only receives the data they need, and is required to keep it secure and use it only for the purpose we have engaged them for.

05Where your data is stored

We aim to store your personal data within the European Economic Area (EEA). Some of our providers may process data outside the EEA. Where that happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, so your data stays protected to the standard required by law. Contact us if you would like more detail.

06How long we keep your data

We keep your personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this policy. Booking and payment-related records are generally kept for the period required by Irish tax and accounting law (currently six years). Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. After that, we securely delete or anonymise your data.

07Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you (a "subject access request");
• have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected;
• ask us to erase your data in certain circumstances;
• ask us to restrict how we use your data;
• ask us to transfer your data to another provider;
• object to certain uses of your data, including direct marketing; and
• withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on it.

To exercise any of these, email us at info@panicmode.ie. We will respond within the timeframes set by law. These rights do not apply in every situation, so if you are unsure, just get in touch and we will explain.

08Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).

09Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page, with the "last updated" date at the top. Please check back occasionally.
